Sally Sweitzer has been entertaining audiences in the New England area for many years. The Boston Globe called her voice a blend of “The soul of Billie Holiday and the power of Janis Joplin”. She has traded licks on stage with John Mayall and Wilson Pickett, and her voice is featured in the film Roan Inish. In the '80s she played the New England circuit with her popular band, Sally and the Sophisticatz and the gospel and soul group TVS. These days Sally prefers a more unplugged format, though her powerful stage and vocal presence has not been diminished over time.
Wendy Sobel, guitarist, singer and songwriter, has been an award-winning presence on the Boston music scene for many years. She has shared the stage with such acts as Karla Bonoff, Livingston Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Lily Tomlin and Kathy Mattea to name a few. She has also toured with Canadian singer/songwriter Ferron. Wendy was a member of the wildly popular band Girls’ Night Out in the eighties and can be seen at present performing in the New England area either acoustically or rocking out with a band.
Singer/songwriter/guitar slinger Henri Nigro has been performing for 35 years in New England, and up and down the East Coast of the USA. He has played many different styles of guitar including classical, folk, blues, rock, disco, funk, rockabilly, country, and bluegrass. Henri has worked as a side-man guitarist for most of his life, preferring musical celebrity to personal fame. His original music has prevailed though musical associations with singers like Pam Bricker, Patty Unitas, Ellis Hall, Shorty Johnson, Dennis Brennan, Spider John Koerner, Roxanne Hardy, Thea Hopkins, Lee Dainty, Eva Devine, Sally Sweitzer, Bev Rohlehr, Wendy Sobel, and Jeanie Lovering to name a few.
The Power of Three combines the talent, experience and musical wisdom of Sally, Wendy and Henri to produce a sound which can be soft and emotive while creating a powerful wall of sound through the amazing blend of their voices, and Wendy and Henri kicking butt on guitar. Their sound is a soulful mix of Folk and Americana covers and originals written by each of them for this band.
