Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles W/ Andrea Gillis
For nearly 20 years, Sarah Borges has built a loyal following with her charismatic, down-to-earth spirit and emotionally resonant songs. Whether sketching vivid portraits of life or captivating audiences with her raw energy, Borges connects with fans both old and new.
When the 2020 pandemic hit, Borges faced a daunting question: how to remain a vital artist in isolation. The result was Together Alone, an album born from solitude and determination. Writing from home, she embraced creative freedom, crafting songs like the reflective "Wasting My Time" and the lively "She's A Trucker," inspired by her pandemic-era job as a courier.
Longtime collaborator Eric “Roscoe” Ambel helped assemble a virtual band, piecing together performances recorded across the country. The process yielded deeply personal tracks like "13th Floor," exploring sobriety and risk, and "Together Alone," a poignant reflection on loss and connection.
For Borges, this album was a lifeline, showcasing her fearless artistry and the power of music to bring people together, even in the hardest times.
Opening the show:
Hailing from South Boston, Andrea Gillis is the real deal - a Northeast legend of rock, soul, jazz and blues. "She has been blessed with the pipes of Etta James and with the boozy swagger of Jim Morrison." - The Boston Globe
