Flannery has been a prominent pianist on the New England jazz scene for decades, with distinctive fluidity, melodic improvisations, and the ability to groove in jazz, Latin, and Brazilian idioms.
Heffner’s versatile and sensitive touch is founded on a lifelong career of classical and jazz performance; when she’s not grooving with the Joy Reo Trio or other ensembles, she’s playing with acclaimed orchestras such as The Handel & Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale.
In 2014 Reo launched her career as a part-time professional jazz vocalist, performing with the Joy Reo Trio in other Boston area venues such as Concord’s Colonial Inn, Dirigible Brewery, The Bull Run, Needham First Night, Carlson Orchards Cider Barn, the Acton Jazz Café, and the Westford Parish Center for the Arts. Reo delivers lyrics with range and resonance to make audiences reflect, laugh, dance, and smile!
