Carter Alan & Allan Dines Book Talk “From the Front Row to the Green Room”

On March 29 from 2 to 4, Sanctuary Cultural Arts Center hosts “From the Front Row to the Green Room” featuring longtime WBCN-FM and WZLX-FM dee-jay Carter Alan and music-biz photographer Allan Dines. The two will discuss the greats, near-greats, and ingrates they’ve met, interviewed, or taken photos of during their many years working with A-list stars like Bruce Springsteen, U2, the Grateful Dead, Ringo Starr, and Paul McCartney – among many others.
Carter Alan has written five books on music, including a best-selling U2 history, “Radio Free Boston: The Rise and Fall of WBCN,” and “The Decibel Diaries: A Journey Through Rock in 50 Concerts.”
Allan Dines was official photographer at the original House of Blues in Cambridge and has shot backstage and front-of-house for bands, radio stations, and other media outlets. Dines also published his own book “Front Row Center: How I Met Everyone.”
You are invited to listen to the stories and ask questions about your own favorites or the state of the media and music today. How are the Rolling Stones up close? What happened to WBCN? Why did the House of Blues in Cambridge close down? Is Ozzy as crazy as we think he is?
