Irish Music with the Boston Cowboy Balladeers: Barside

Doors 5 PM | Show 7 PM
Free for Bar Patrons
Bringing the golden era of cowboy music to life, The Boston Cowboy Balladeers perform swinging tunes from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s with rich harmonies and timeless storytelling.
At the heart of the group is R.G. Gallagher, a lifelong musician who grew up in Charlestown, Boston, during the 1940s and 1950s, when the neighborhood was deeply rooted in Irish immigrant heritage. His love of history and storytelling inspired Irish Need Not Apply, a show exploring the immigrant experience through music. A Berklee alum, Gallagher previously performed solo and with the folk duo Blue Tandem before founding the Balladeers to revive long-lost cowboy songs.
Joining him is his son, Jesse Gallagher, a multi-instrumentalist and longtime Programming Director at The Lilypad. Together, with a talented band, they bring timeless Western melodies to new audiences.
