The Macrotones & The Void Union

Doors 6:30 PM | Show 7:30 PM
The Macrotones have been delivering deep, offbeat funk and soul since 2007. This 10-piece powerhouse blends heavy grooves, blazing horns, and global influences into a dancefloor-ready sound. With six records under their belt—including From the Void (2024)—they’ve evolved into a grittier, classic soul-inspired outfit, especially since adding vocalist Phil Desisto in 2019. Their high-energy, genre-defying performances have shared stages with Lee Fields, Durand Jones, and The Budos Band.
The Void Union is on a mission to keep the golden era of Jamaican ska alive while pushing the genre forward. Rooted in the rhythms of the 1960s, this Massachusetts-based collective has played alongside Derrick Morgan, The Skatalites, and Lynval Golding of The Specials. Their discography, including Higher Guns (2011) and Return of the Super Vape (2019), blends early reggae, traditional ska, and jazz-infused grooves, keeping timeless ska fresh for new generations.
Amory’s Tomb will also be on hand this Thursday at Sanctuary with two exclusive brews just for the show—Funky Broadcast, a special edition barrel-aged IPA in cans, and Clockstopper Pils, a bright, floral, dry-hopped pilsner on draught. Don’t miss The Macrotones & The Void Union, plus these limited-release pours.
