Samois-sur-Seine is the French town where jazz legend Django Reinhardt settled down, establishing Samois as the cultural heart of the musical tradition which followed in his footsteps. Known today as "Manouche", or "Gypsy Jazz", this jazz style which marries classic swing jazz with Eastern European influence instantly transports the listener to the vintage vibes of Parisian cafes of the 1930s and 40's. With two Berklee grads in its roster, the West of Samois quartet comprises four talented musicians (two acoustic guitars, double bass, saxophone), who came together over their love of this timeless, joyful jazz, that guarantees to put smiles on listeners' faces while transporting them to a different time and place.
