The Savtones

Sanctuary Presents brings Boston’s best-dressed troublemakers to town for a holy night of honky-tonk soul, swampy blues, and barroom country swing. The Savtones take the stage at BARSIDE — the one-of-a-kind venue tucked inside a former church — on Thursday, August 21 for a FREE show guaranteed to raise spirits and eyebrows.
For bandleader Tony Savarino, this is more than a gig — it’s a full-circle moment. “I was stranded in Maynard during the Blizzard of ’78,” he recalls. “Me and my old man were holed up with a kerosene heater, watching the snow pile up and wondering if the world had ended. So yeah, I’ve got history here. And now we’re bringin’ a storm of our own — only this one’s got a backbeat.”
The Savtones deliver a wild blend of country, honky-tonk, blues, soul, and swing, played with style and fire.
