The Lion Sisters grew up on a farm in rural New England surrounded by music. They began learning fiddle (Josi) and guitar (Lily) at an early age and soon began creating music together. During the summers, the sisters performed at nearby farmers markets, events, and then at local music venues such as the Portsmouth Book & Bar and The Stone Church Music Club. 

Josi and Lily work together writing their songs, combining topics they care about as well as stories their imaginations create. Their music is a fresh and contemporary take on their Bluegrass, Country, Celtic and Folk roots, and the lyrics are both playful and meaningful. The Lion Sisters hope to reach individuals of all ages by addressing relatable situations and sparking people’s love of music.

Their debut EP, released in January 2025, consists of six original songs recorded by Nashville music producer Jim Prendergast. They are excited to spend the summer sharing their music with audiences throughout New England at venues such as Ossipee Valley Music Festival and various summer concert series. 

The Lion Sisters' dedication to their musicianship, combined with their shared DNA, creates a beautiful new take on sister harmony and advanced instrumentation. When on stage, their love of music becomes obvious, and they can’t wait to continue on their musical journey together.
