Lori Z Jazz Trio: Barside

The Lori Z Jazz Trio performs classic and contemporary jazz and blues.

Lori Zuroff has been singing with various rock, blues, R&B, and jazz bands for over 25 years in the Boston area. She has performed with both small and large bands in venues all over Boston including Chick Singer Night at Johnny D's and the Burren in Somerville, The Mad Monkfish in Cambridge, and other venues from Boston to Worcester to Cape Cod and beyond. Lori leads a jazz trio (with Molly Flannery, piano and Bill McCormack, bass) and recorded a jazz cd in 2020 with a jazz quintet. She also has her own 5 piece rock band, The Lola Sweet Band. In addition, Lori is one of 3 lead singers in a Steely Dan cover band called the Nightflies, which has become very popular in the Boston area.
Prior to the pandemic, Lori was co-hosting a popular blues jam in Acton and Maynard and visiting hospitals for Musicians on Call in Boston.

Bill McCormack grew up in Ireland and started playing trumpet and bass at an early age. Before moving to the United States he played with many of Irelands` top musicians including singers Honor Heffernan and Christine Tobin, Stocktons Wing, and was a member of renowned jazz guitarist Louis Stewarts’ regular quartet. He continues to hold down the groove on a diverse Boston music scene playing both upright and electric bass with many of the areas best musicians.
Molly Flannery is a standout pianist in the Boston jazz scene, known for her melodic improvisations and ability to groove in jazz, Latin, and Brazilian styles. Starting piano at age six in Libertyville, IL, and inspired by her father's love of bossa nova, she began teaching piano at 11. After studying at Yale, she launched her career in Japan before settling in Boston, where she studied with notable jazz musicians and became the keyboard player for Cosmos Factor. Flannery later formed her own quintet, released two acclaimed albums, and continues to perform at various venues around Boston.
